Changing Lives Through Surfing
Ocean Mind is a therapeutic surfing charity that enriches people’s mental health, relationships and potential through surfing. Ocean Mind is based in Torquay Victoria and delivers programs in Anglesea, Ocean Grove and now the Mornington Peninsula. We’re committed to developing evidence-based programs that create life-changing experiences for people experiencing mental health challenges, social isolation and disabilities.
What is Surf Therapy?
Therapeutic surfing is defined by the International Surf Therapy Organisation (ISTO) as combining the therapeutic elements of the ocean with the adventure of surfing to positively impact the physical and mental well-being of individuals worldwide.
Surf Therapy at Ocean Mind centres around skill development, capacity building, mentoring and fun.

Our Programs
At Ocean Mind, we offer free community programs starting with our 6-Week Swell Program, an introduction to surf therapy that leads to ongoing support through our regular Surf Club sessions. This allows participants to build confidence, connections, and skills over the long term.
We also provide tailored 1:1 and group sessions for individuals with NDIS funding, ensuring personalized support to meet their unique needs and goals. Additionally, our school programs offer flexible options designed to promote mental and physical wellbeing for students through the power of surf therapy. To learn more, follow the links below.
