Dave Geary

Growing up on the coast as a kid has given me a lifelong love of the ocean which has brought me so many joys and a sense of connection. It’s a place I always go back to when I want to feel safe and calm my mind. 

I started volunteering with Ocean Mind 5 years ago and that experience inspired me to make a complete career change from being a tradesman to becoming a youth worker. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made!

It’s been really special to see how the ocean can provide a place for young people to build confidence, resilience and connections, learn new skills, have fun and be their authentic selves in a community that is safe and free of judgement. 

I am so stoked to be part of the team and I look forward to supporting young people experience the amazing programs Ocean Mind has to offer.
